TRIESTE – For the first time, Fincantieri will build cruise ships for Aida Cruises. The shipbuilding group and Carnival Corporation & plc have signed an agreement for the design and construction of two new vessels for the German-speaking market leader in the cruise sector. The value of the agreement — subject to financing and other standard contractual terms and conditions — has been described as highly significant. That is, over 2 billion euros. The two ships will be delivered in early 2030 and late 2031, respectively. Each vessel will feature around 2,100 passenger cabins and will be equipped with multi-fuel engines capable of running on LNG, biodiesel, and next-generation sustainable fuels, in line with the industry’s decarbonization goals. Over the course of its history, Fincantieri has delivered a total of 75 cruise ships to Carnival Corporation for its various brands, further strengthening the long-standing partnership between the two companies.

«We are honored that our long-time partner Carnival Corporation has chosen Fincantieri to build ships for Aida Cruises for the first time in our history. This milestone – commented Pierroberto Folgiero, CEO and General Manager of Fincantieri, – confirms our ability to serve Carnival Corporation’s entire brand portfolio, while also ensuring long-term visibility for our shipyards. The new vessels will incorporate the most advanced technologies in terms of sustainability and efficiency, further reinforcing the leadership of Fincantieri and Carnival Corporation in cruise industry innovation».
