VENICE – The Venice Coast Guard coordinated an emergency medical evacuation yesterday on board the MSC Opera cruise ship as it was departing from the port. The operation was launched to assist a passenger who was in a critical medical condition. Medical personnel from SUEM 118 provided care to the passenger and, after stabilizing the situation, arranged for their urgent transport to a local hospital for necessary treatment. Following the rescue operation, MSC Opera was able to resume its voyage, continuing its navigation toward Rijeka, Croatia.
