Monfalcone will shortly start workflow of channel excavation

MONFALCONE - Within January the time schedule for the excavation of the access channel to the Port of Monfalcone will be effective.  The project will be simplified as the Region is accelerating the procedure. The consulting committee has been discussing the regulating plan of the Port of Monfalcone. 
During the course of the meetings a study for TLS-Europa was also explored, evaluating new railroad connections and Ro-Ro traffic for containers and passengers.
After a meeting held by the Region today, the deadline to start the excavations for the increase in depth of the Port of Monfalcone is approaching. The objective of the project is begin partial excavations of the sea bottom by mid 2016 in order to simplify the excavation to follow.   By February 4th, stakeholders will intervene with observations on the regulating plan. Simultaneously, there is a dialogue with the superior counsel of public work (Ministero delle Infrastrutture e dei Trasporti), to verify the necessary steps for the final approval of the project.  In another meeting held by the consulting committee of the Port of Monfalcone early December, a study provided by (TLS-Europa S.r.l.) analysing the current and future situation was taken in consideration.   The research assumes the development of Ro-Ro traffic for containers and passengers. One of the growth factors is related to new railroad connections.
