TRIESTE – After weeks of speculation, the decision has been made: the relationship between Alessio Lilli and Tal-Siot will come to an end with the natural expiration of his contract.
At the end of June, he will step down as General Manager of TAL and Chairman of Siot. He will be succeeded by Alessandro Gorla, a chemical engineer who graduated from the Politecnico di Milano and a manager at OMV, one of the main shareholders of the company that operates the oil terminal at the Port of Trieste. Thanks to the crude oil unloaded by Siot, the international port of Friuli Venezia Giulia ranks first in Italy for total cargo tonnage handled annually. Alessandro Gorla is currently Managing Director of OMV Refining & Marketing MEA, a division of the international energy company OMV based in the United Arab Emirates. Previously, he served as Managing Director of OMV Downstream MEA within the same company. Gorla is an executive with over 25 years of experience in the energy sector, specializing in refining, marketing, and trading in the oil and gas market. In 2025, he was a speaker at “Connecting Hydrogen MENA 2025,” a strategic summit focused on the hydrogen sector in the Middle East and North Africa region.
