TRIESTE – 2024 was a year of expansion for Dachser, which closed with revenues exceeding €8 billion, marking a 13% increase over the previous year.
The result stems from a strategic acceleration based on key acquisitions, network development, and counter-cyclical investments.
The German logistics operator reached a record revenue of €8.027 billion in 2024, thanks especially to the integration of DACHSER & FERCAM Italia, Frigoscandia, and Brummer. The family-run company also expanded its workforce (+3,300 employees), operating sites (+56), and warehouse capacity (+720,000 pallet spaces). Even organically, growth was solid (+4.7%), driven by the strength of its European groupage network and higher rates in air and sea freight transport.
The volume of shipments rose by 7.6%, reaching 83.2 million, while tonnage surpassed 44 million tons (+10.2%). However, the challenges of the German economy and stagnant conditions across Europe held back what could have been even greater growth. “High costs and declining consumption also impacted our operations,” explained CEO Burkhard Eling.
The company responded with a bold investment plan: in 2024, DACHSER allocated €490 million—twice the amount of the previous year—for acquisitions, network expansion, digitalization, and sustainability. An additional €400 million is already earmarked for 2025.
