Kazakhstan, interest in the Port of Trieste
TRIESTE - Kazakhstan's ambassador to Italy, Sergey Nurtayev, said he was interested in collaborations with Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and in particular with the Port of Trieste.
The declaration was made during the meeting held today between the ambassador and the president of the FVG Region, Massimiliano Fedriga. The development of connections with the Port of Trieste, considering its strategic location within the Silk Road, and a collaboration that promotes mutual agricultural productions were the relevant topics of the visit, which will be presented tomorrow in Rome during a meeting of Fedriga with the undersecretary of the Council of Ministers, Giancarlo Giorgetti.
Particular interest was expressed by the ambassador for the Port of Trieste, by virtue of his international vocation and the growth recorded in recent years. Moreover, Fedriga has also highlighted the structural interventions that will make the port even more competitive and equipped to develop further volumes of freight traffic, especially with foreign markets. From this point of view, the President stressed, the Free zones represent a further opportunity to establish commercial relations with an emerging economy like Kazakhstan, whose GDP has reached 25 thousand euros per capita.
