Weighing service at Port of Trieste’s Molo VII becomes active

TRIESTE - A weighing station to determine mass weight (VGM - Verified Gross Mass) of container ships, has been activated at Trieste’s Molo VII.

Accredited operators will be able to request the service (requiring a registration within the TMT system at the following email:  weighing@trieste-marine-terminal.com), both for incoming containers arriving with trucks as well as those arriving via railroad, at least four hours before the container’s arrival. The service will be available with the same time schedule as truck traffic acceptance and will have an experimental cost of 45,00 Euro, per container in case of prior request and 80,00 Euro (only for railroad) in case request arrives after container stacking on yard. TMT reminds that it is the shipper’s responsibility to inform the VGM data to the respective Maritime Companies, according to their timetable requests.
Trieste Marine Terminal as manager of Molo VII, invites all interested operators, to arrive (when possible) at the Port of Call with the VGM data already available, in order to avoid congesting the weighing activity.
