TRIESTE - Trieste Marine Terminal closes 2016 with 449.481 teu (+1.26% vs 2015) and 291.386 cntr (+4.7% vs 2015).

TRIESTE – In October 2016 a new direct rail service has been activated between TMT and the Czech Terminal of Ostrava. In November, the overall TMT rail connections set a new record for intermodal traffic with +53.7% compared to same month last year.

TRIESTE - The 14,000 Teu ship MSC Paloma is expected to arrive at the Port of Trieste on December 14th and will be docking at Molo VII, renewing the record for the largest ship ever to enter the Adriatic Sea. Until now, the record was held by MSC Luciana with its 11,600 Teu, that has been welcomed at TMT last year.

TRIESTE – The Gate Four (Varco 4) of the Port of Trieste has been activated a couple of weeks ago to connect directly the container terminal to the national and international railway network.

MONFALCONE - A cooperation agreement was signed today in Monfalcone between Compagnia Portuale Srl and two major international partners to attract new clients and cargo to Portorosega. The partners of the initiative that could pave the way for strong developments in the short term, are DB Cargo Logistics GmbH, the logistics department of the German railways and Wallenius Willemsen Logistics, a global leader in RoRo shipping and logistics.

TRIESTE - The month of September has shown a strong growth on intermodal traffic for Trieste Marine Terminal, recording a 30,2% increase in traffic compared to last year’s figures during the same month.

TRIESTE - More than 150 operators and experts attended the presentation of the Port of Trieste held in Munich on September 14th. Parallel to the conference a technical meeting between authorities and operators has been arranged to discuss about a customs corridor between the Port of Trieste and Bavaria.

TRIESTE - With effect from September 6th 2016 a new direct rail service will connect the Port of Trieste to the Slovakian Terminal of Dunajská Streda. This will be the first and unique connection between  the Italian Port and the Eastern Country.

TRIESTE - During the first five months of 2016, the intermodal traffic at Trieste Marine Terminal shows a +17.1% compared to the same period in 2015. On monthly basis, data shows a +3% compared to May 2015.

TRIESTE - Italian Rail Network (RFI) announced that the upgrading works of the rail infrastructure in Trieste Campo Marzio have been started in these days. The plan includes the replacement of some railroad switches and the planimetric changes in order to improve the railway line for a total investment of 680 000 euros.
