Secnet: the Ports of Trieste, Venice and Koper increase security

TRIESTE - Plans for cooperation, installation of radars, alarms, cameras, use of drones and tests for defense against cyber attacks.

These are the concrete actions implemented thanks to Secnet Project, cross-border institutional cooperation for the strengthening of port security, which has seen the ports of Trieste, Koper and Venice working together. The results of the project, presented yesterday during a conference held in Trieste, represent the outcome of the collaboration started in 2017 with a budget of about 1.3 million euro and the goal of creating the basis for a coordinated and permanent governance of port security at cross-border level. For the Chair of  the Port Network Authority of the Eastern Adriatic Sea, Zeno D'Agostino «Today's challenge in the maritime sector is to ensure the highest level of safety standards for people, freights and port facilities, identifying new policies that do not impact on port operations and on the logistics chain. Secnet has paved the way for a fruitful collaboration between the three ports to reach an integrated security model for the Upper Adriatic Sea».
