Port of Trieste, on the way the "Clean Berth" project

TRIESTE - The Port of Trieste will receive 219,400 euros (out of a total budget of 880,000 euros) for the "Clean berth" project in the context of cross-border institutional cooperation for environmental sustainability and energy efficiency of ports.

This is a 24-month project co-financed by the Interreg Italy-Slovenia program. The aim is to develop action plans for strengthening the environmental sustainability and energy efficiency of ports. The plans will be followed by concrete pilot actions, such as the construction of charging stations for electric vehicles, the installation of sensors on drones and radars to identify the presence of hydrocarbons and pollutants at sea, the replacement of port lighting systems with LED systems and the purchase of control units for monitoring noise pollution.
The primary objective will be to improve the environmental performance of all the ports in the program area (Trieste, Monfalcone, Porto Nogaro, Venice, Chioggia and Capodistria).
