Port of Trieste, go-ahead to changes to the Regulatory Plan

TRIESTE - The Friuli Venezia Giulia Region has approved a document proposed by the Port Network Authority of the Eastern Adriatic Sea, the Technical-functional adaptation of the Port of Trieste, introducing some changes to the Port Regulatory plan.

Two variations have been adopted, the first of which concerns the logistic platform under construction, where the advancement of 35 meters towards the sea of the quayside front has been allowed, in order to reach the seabed depth of 15 meters.
The other variation regards the re-definition of functions in the urban port area: should the planned tourist port be not realized, the new planning will have to take into account environmental and landscape regulations, besides the bonds for the safeguard of the cultural heritage that includes the historical city lighthouse.
