Port of Trieste: a first semester of growth showing a record score for trains (+16,90%)
TRIESTE - The first six months of 2017 have shown a 0,91% increase in total goods displaced for the Port of Trieste, setting a new growth record in the railroad department with a 16,90% increase.
Amongst the data of the various port operations - published by the Trieste Port Authority - containers stand out with a +21,68% (296.032 Teu), contributing to the record figures. Also positive are the various areas of miscellaneous goods (+16,90%) and RO-RO (149.678 units displaced with +2,14%) while dry and liquid bulk has registered a decrease of -28.14% and -1.04% respectively. With 4,082 trains handled in this year’s first semester, the railroad traffic keeps leading the competitiveness of the port, by allowing daily and direct connections across Europe.
