Port of Monfalcone, fees of State concessions to remain on site
TRIESTE - The economic revenues generated by the Port of Monfalcone will remain in loco, thus allowing the improvement and development of the harbour.
The FVG Region illustrated the draft agreement with which the port of Monfalcone will become part of the Port System Authority of the Eastern Adriatic Sea. The document stipulates that the fees for state concessions, amounting to approximately 750 thousand euros per year, and any other revenue relating to the management of the port will be collected directly by the Authority that will re-use them for development interventions in the Port of Monfalcone itself. The document sets out with precision the competences of those involved and establishes that the interventions already started will be managed by the Region. This involves deepening of the port access channel, the works on the tracks for the railway ring and the extraordinary maintenance of the railway serving the industrial and port area.
"Ensuring unique management of the Ports of Trieste and Monfalcone is an element of strength concerning international markets that will make the ports of Friuli Venezia Giulia even more attractive," explained the Regional Councillor for Infrastructure and Territory, Graziano Pizzimenti.
