NAPA, Trieste holds the rotating presidency. The comeback of Ravenna to the association
TRIESTE – The new semester of rotating presidency of the NAPA (North Adriatic Ports Association) was inaugurated a few days ago in Ravenna by Zeno D’Agostino, head of the Port Network Authority of Trieste.
He claimed that NAPA has all the right features to compete with the Northern European Ports.A traffic increase of about 30% was recorded in the ports belonging to the association (Trieste, Venice, Ravenna, Koper and Rijeka), passing from 112 to 143 million tons between 2009 and 2016. As for containers, the growth was up to 80%, going from 1.3 to 2.4 million Teu. The Assembly readmitted the Port of Ravenna to the association, while the European Coordinator of the Baltic-Adriatic Corridor Kurt Bodewig participated in the work as well.
