European Ports, D'Agostino appointed vice-president
TRIESTE - Zeno D'Agostino, President of Assoporti, the Italian Association of Ports, and President of the Port Network Authority of the Eastern Adriatic Sea, has been elected Vice-president of ESPO (European ports).
The appointment of D'Agostino, the only representative of southern Europe, was supported by Belgium, Finland, France, Latvia, Holland, Romania, Spain, Ireland, Sweden, Norway and the United Kingdom, and first of all by Italy. The role of Vice President of the European organization will last for 2 years and is renewable once. For the Italian maritime economy, the appointment is important in order to strongly represent its unitary voice at European level. D'Agostino will share the position with the other vice-president, Annaleena Makila (Finland), while Eamonn O'Reilly (Ireland) has been confirmed as president.
