Duisport invests in Interporto di Trieste

TRIESTE - Duisburger Hafen AG (Duisport), the largest intermodal terminal operator at global level, steps in the logistics hub of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region.

Duisport acquires 15% of the shares of Interporto di Trieste, the company managing the dry port of the Port of Trieste and also controlling Interporto di Cervignano S.p.A.. The financial company of the Region, Friulia S.p.A., previously holding 46.99% of the share capital of the Interporto group, will continue holding its relative majority (31.99%). The partnership was signed today in Trieste by Erich Staake, CEO of Duisport, Federica Seganti, President of Friulia, and Zeno D'Agostino, President of the Port Network Authority of the Eastern Adriatic Sea, in the presence of the Regional Councilor for Infrastructure and Transport, Graziano Pizzimenti.
The agreement will serve to the development of a company that is strategic for the area, helping to make the infrastructural system of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region one of the key hubs for the arrival and forwarding of goods to Central and Eastern Europe. The partnership will bring the Port of Trieste to grow on its path of internationalization by strengthening alliances with the main European ports.
