Digitization of ports: Customs, Trieste and Genoa sign an agreement

TRIESTE - With the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding, the Port Network Authorities of the Western Ligurian Sea and the Eastern Adriatic Sea accelerate the digitization of the customs procedures of the two port systems.

For the Port of Genoa, action will be taken in particular on entry and exit procedures, as well as loading and unloading of goods, with the aim of improving customs processes. For the Port of Trieste, the interventions will affect, in addition to the harbour, the Fernetti dry port. The aim, in this case, is to integrate the activities of the port itself with the system of dry ports and Free zones on the regional territory. At the same time, it will aim to improve operational procedures and relocate customs controls, to decongest the port and surrounding road.
