Customs corridor, new connections and institutional meetings: FVG key player in Munich
TRIESTE - Presentation of the regional logistic network, new railway services, institutional meetings and prospective developments for the Port of Trieste also by way of a Customs corridor.
These are the results obtained by the logistics and port operators present at Transport Logistic, the leading trade fair in the sector, just concluded in Munich. An important memorandum of understanding was signed between Zeno D'Agostino, (President of the Port Network Authority of the Eastern Adriatic Sea) and Fraenz Benoy, (Director of CFL Multimodal, a subsidiary of CFL-Luxembourg railways), to strengthen the intermodal connections between the Port of Friuli Venezia Giulia and the logistics center of Bettembourg.
But important contacts also occurred at the political level, with the President of the FVG Region, Massimiliano Fedriga, the protagonist of the meetings with the Ministers of the Land of Bavaria, Florian Herrmann (Federal, Community and International affairs) and Hans Reichhart (Transports). In the first meeting, the desire to reinvigorate the 2016 Memorandum of Understanding was reiterated, with particular attention to collaboration on logistics and innovation applied to companies. But also to create the Customs Corridor between Trieste and Munich, to open up new development prospects. In the second meeting, the objectives of infrastructural alliances and investments to enhance the logistic capacities of Friuli Venezia Giulia and Baviera were shared.
